Focused on developing fundamental processing-structure-property relationships in materials for extreme environments and energy applications.
Main areas of interest include cell-cell and cell-extra-cellular matrix (cell-ECM) adhesion, cell-generated forces, and cell responses to external forces.
Focuses on developing microfluidic-based tactile sensors and investigating biomedical and robotics applications of the developed tactile sensors.
The lab uses a variety of commercially available 3-D engineering software packages used by engineering and manufacturing firms.
The lab houses transmission and reflection polariscopes, an MTS material testing system with data acquisition facilities for low and high-temperature testing of materials, and a dark room for photography.
